DIVE INTO JUNGLE
AKA "Project Jungle-Jungle" or "2Jungle". Original worldbuilding and story project started in mid-2020.
Dive Into Jungle takes place in a hidden forested area known simply as The Jungle, which houses a giant Cavity that supposedly sinks to the "center of the earth". The Jungle blocks out all outside noise, and the people who enter The Jungle stop aging until they leave it—which most people never do because of the grimness of the outside world. For health and protection, a new power-enhancement technology known as Mechs became widespread around the world in this era.
The inhabitants formed a village around the greenery of The Jungle. Most of the villagers are young people or curious explorers. Essentially, The Jungle is a "Neverland" zone, and the Cavity contains several lower levels that get colder and colder. The rumor is that the lowest level is filled with an extremely cold liquid magic that freezes the flesh of anyone who touches it.

Characters
Rhodes JianRhodes Jian is a short and stocky 13-year-old girl who grew up climbing the vines in the countryside with her grandmother, Lola Tala, a genius in robot and AI innovation. As the most recent inhabitant, she fled to The Jungle on accident while escaping from her lola's destroyed house.
A hot-headed loner at a young age, Rhodes was expelled from her elementary school and sent to live with her grandmother, where she was homeschooled. Tala gave Rhodes a prototype Mech named Hanumech in the shape of a stuffed toy monkey as an heirloom from Rhodes's late mother. While living with her grandmother, Rhodes learned a lot about AI technology and the sheer potential of power through Mechs, although she's still learning to see Mechs as more than tools. Conspiracy terrorists raided her grandmother's home for the coveted Mech prototypes, seeking to destroy them or take the technology for themselves. Hiding in the basement, she had only the silent Hanumech to keep her company until she found her way into The Jungle. Alongside the common tasks of maintaining the earliest levels of The Jungle from any internal damage, Rhodes also works as an undercover spy for her senior, Hook, in investigating the true operations of the other sectors from deeper within the Cavity. By winning the favor of Hook and her peers in the sector, she believes that she will "finally stop getting orphaned again and again". Her rank in The Jungle is "Star", the lowest rank. She thinks that if she could "climb high enough", then she will one day "reach the stars". Rhodes's Mech, Hanumech, represents a Philippine long-tailed macaque monkey. His power manifests in Rhodes's stuffed toy. |

HanumechHanumech, otherwise known as Han, is Rhodes's Mech, represented as a Philippine long-tailed macaque monkey. He was one of the first Mechs ever created, designed by Tala, and was linked to Rhodes's mother Diante before she presumably passed away 10 years ago.
On the outside, Han appears stone-cold and quiet, never speaking out of turn or sometimes at all. To Rhodes, he is the soft voice of reason that she usually doesn't listen to. Regardless he's loyal to the people close to him and stands by them, without questioning their choices--often to a fault. The deeper Rhodes climbs down the Cavity, the stronger Han's Mech power gets, which makes him curious of what lies on the lowest level. He believes that his late Operator, Diante, is still alive nearby. |

Pacifico AvelinoPacifico Avelino is a tall and scrawny 14-year-old boy who dreams of being a champion in the ring. He fled to The Jungle with two older peers who promised to allow him to pursue his dreams instead of those of his relatives, in exchange for an ever-increasing debt.
To keep his debt low, Pacifico participates in underground fighting tournaments against other Mech-powered individuals. These fights may also involve descending into the depths of the Cavity to battle the monsters seeping out of the fissures. His debtors--the supervisors of his sector--call him "Pax", although he secretly prefers being called "Passi" instead. He begins accompanying Rhodes after he gets jaded with his ever-worsening living situation, which he suspects he isn't the only victim of. His rank in The Jungle is "Moon", the middle rank, for being in The Jungle for at least half a year. Pacifico's Mech, Quillmech, represents a Philippine eagle, also known as a monkey-eating eagle. Her power manifests in Pacifico's mock champion belt. |

HookHook is a senior member of The Jungle and is the supervisor of the sector that Rhodes is a part of. Having lived in The Jungle longer than most of the other inhabitants, Hook is dismayed at his lessening physical ability, and wants to protect the kids from receiving the same fate as him.
Hook got his nickname due to an accident a few years ago. His hook-shaped grappling rope suddenly snapped while climbing down, and he landed in the cold liquid permeating the bottom level of the Cavity. As a result, everything except for his head and torso have been replaced with prosthetics. His rank in The Jungle is "Sun", the highest rank, but he is only the supervisor of the low-level "Star" group. It is a rumor that he received the rank of "Sun" only because he saw the bottom level of the Cavity way too early. Hook's Mech, Caramech, represents a carabao, or a Philippine water buffalo. His power manifests in Hook's prosthetics, most visibly in his hands and chest. |
